The “Folkes” name has been in the electrical industry since 1943, when M.G. Folkes Sr. became chief electrical inspector for the City of Richmond and continued to hold that post for over 25 years. Son, Marshall G. Folkes Jr., began in the trade as an estimator for a large electrical contracting firm in 1954 and later opened what is now Folkes Electrical Construction Co. Inc. in 1979. Son Bruce C. Folkes began running the business in 1991 and is currently president and owner of the company.

Folkes Electrical Construction is well versed in many facets of the electrical industry indicated through our "Services" and "Fields of Expertise" menus, performing work for such clients as Bank of America’s data centers, Alcoa, Bon Secours Hospitals, Smurfit Stone Container Paper mills, Kinder Morgan Fuel Tank Farms, Mazda, Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Richmond, Kings Dominion, and a host of other commercial, industrial, and institutional customers.

Our qualified, conscientious personnel at Folkes Electrical Construction is comprised of employees most of whom have often worked for the organization for 10 plus years. Some have even been with the company since shortly after the company was formed in 1979. This low turnover rate provides for much of our success!
